Senior Citizens Dance - Sat. Mar. 6th from 7-10pm at the Lide White Community Center. Classic Country with Bobby Elkins will perform. Admission is $3. For more information, call 812-265-5811.

Shawe Memorial Junior Dinner & Silent Auction - Sun. Mar. 7th from 11am-1pm at the Pope John Cafeteria. Adult spaghetti dinners are $7, K-12 grade are $5, preschool & under are free. Proceeds will benefit the junior class to help with expenses for prom & graduation.

Pope John & Shawe 2010-11 Registration: Tue. Mar. 9th from 4-7pm - K-12th with last names A-K; Wed. Mar. 10th from 4-7pm - K-12th with last names L-Z; Tue. Mar. 16th from 6-7pm - Infant/Toddler & Preschool/Daycare. All registration events will take place in the Pope John Cafeteria.

Ecumenical Lenten Services - These services take place on Wednesdays at 12:05pm and end with a luncheon. Services are on the following dates and places: Mar. 10th - Prince of Peace; Mar. 17th - Madison Presbyterian; Mar. 24th - First Christian Church; & Mar. 31st - First Baptist Church.

Wednesday Night Fellowship - Wed. Mar. 10th & 17th at 6pm at North United Methodist Church. The message will start at 6:45pm and will be "Lenten Reflections".

One Book, One Community Project - A discussion of the book The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch will be held on Thu. Mar. 11th at 6pm at Villiage Lights Book Store. Books are available now at the Madison-Jefferson Co. Public Library.

Pet Caretakers Ministry Meeting - Thu. Mar. 11th at 7pm. This meeting is open to the public at North United Methodist Church.

Geriatric Dog Class - Sat. Mar. 13th from 10am-Noon at North United Methodist Church. This event is sponsored by the Pet Caretakers Ministry and will touch on the topics of arthritis, euthanasia, and other concerns for older pets. To register, call 812-265-4628.

Classical Guitarist Jonathan Crissman - Sun. Mar. 14th at the 9:30am service at Christ Episcopal Church. Crissman has performed many solo concerts in the UK, Ireland, Czech Republic, India, and South Korea.

Classical Guitarist Jonathan Crissman - Sun. Mar. 14th at 9:30am at Christ Episcopal Church. Crissman will be performing during the morning service. He has performed around the world in locations like the UK, Ireland, Czech Rep. India & South Korea.

Hunter's Education & Safety Classes - Mar. 16,17, & 18 from 5-9pm in the Lide White Boys & Girls Club. The classes will be taught by conservation officers Andy Crozier & Brad Wehner. Hanover Neighborhood Watch Meeting - The 2nd Tuesday of Every Month. The group meets at the Town of Hanover building at 6pm.

Madison Senior Citizen Dances - Fridays at the Brown Gym. Doors open at 5pm, with the dance beginning at 6:30pm. Cost to attend is $2.50 per person. Free snacks and door prizes are available with admission. If schools are cancelled or dismissed early that day, the dance will be cancelled.

Salvation Army Services - The following are social services available Mon.-Fri. from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the Salvation Army offices in Downtown Madison: Emergency Food Pantry- open to low-income Jefferson Co. residents. The Trimble Co. Emergency Search Unit is accepting donations of equipment or monetary gifts. The unit helps find lost children, camping parties, or flood or storm victims. Donations are tax-deductible and can be sent to: Trimble Co. Emergency Search Unit, P.O. Box 304, Bedford, KY 40006.

The City of Madison Concert Band will be meeting on Tuesdays at 7pm in the Madison Senior Center on Main Street. The are looking for all musicians who play woodwind, brass, or percussion. For more information, contact Charles Schnabel at 701-3446 or Scott Davis at 599-8557.

Volunteers are needed at the Madison - Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Cash donations, puppy chow, paper towels, bleach, Dawn dishwashing liquid (without bleach) would also be helpful. The shelter is located at 2727 Hannah Drive in Madison Indiana. Operation hours are 12-5 pm Monday/Thursday/Friday, noon-4 pm on Saturday, noon-3 pm on Sunday, and closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Lide White Boys and Girls Club is looking for volunteers. Call the club at 812-265-5811 or stop by in person at 1551 M.S.H. Northgate Road in Madison.

Tired of cooking? Come eat lunch at the Madison Senior Center- 208 W Main
Street. Lunch is served at 11:30 AM Monday through Friday. Call 812-265-5376 for a reservation 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Donation for the meal is encouraged. Transportation is available.
